When you connect Google, Google shows you a screen asking whether Botti may access your account. This page explains what that screen means, what Botti does with the access, and how to take it back.
What Botti asks Google for
1. Who you are
Your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account (Google calls these openid, email and profile). We use them to create your Botti account and sign you in.
2. Your Business Profile
Access to manage your Google Business Profile (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/business.manage). Google only offers this as one permission, which covers two things Botti needs:
- Reading your business locations, their details and their reviews — so we can show them to you and draft replies.
- Posting replies to reviews on your behalf — so an approved reply goes live without you copying it across.
The same permission would technically also allow changing your business details, such as opening hours or photos. Botti never does that. It only reads, and it only writes review replies.
What Botti does not do
- It does not read your Gmail, contacts, calendar, files or Google Ads.
- It does not post anything other than replies to reviews.
- It does not publish a reply unless you approve it, or unless you have set a rule that allows it (for example "publish five-star replies automatically").
- It does not sell your data or use it for advertising.
- It does not use your reviews to train AI models.
Where the data goes
Your reviews and replies are stored in the European Union. To draft a reply, the review text, the reviewer's first name and your voice settings are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which returns the draft and does not keep it to train its models. The privacy policy lists every provider involved.
How to take access back
You can stop Botti's access at any time, in either place:
- In Botti: Settings → Google → Disconnect.
- In Google: go to myaccount.google.com/permissions, select Botti and remove access.
Either way, access ends immediately. We delete your stored Google access tokens straight away, stop importing reviews and stop publishing. Your imported data is deleted when you delete your account, or within 30 days of cancelling.
Google's rules
Botti's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
